We are standing on the precipice overlooking the spreading valley below.
A breeze from the southwest, soft as a raptor’s wings, is the only sound.
The luminous sun transcends to a reddened globe, sinking swiftly into the horizon.
As the sky darkens all the warmth of the day is evaporating with haste.
Soon the nucleus of the evening with its chill and shadows will be upon us.
There is nothing that overlays our deepest thoughts in this serene setting.
As our thoughts turn inward we contemplate our current way of life.
Is it really worth going back into the competition and stress of the daily routine?
We are now alone with our thoughts and a new way of life is very tempting.
Seeking shelter, we know this temptation is sadly overruled and we must return.
