You're far away...
Indeed, Chicago is your city now,
it seems to me,
just yesterday you left
the southern spring
and lost yourself
in the ambitious crowd.

And there the sun is cold
in winter time,
and silver trees
wrung their hands
against the clouds,
and you ignore
the lifeless breath of wind,
when snowflakes
touch your window glass.

And constantly
your dreams at night
reflect the moon
and sandy shores of southern charm,
you can not turn away from them
your mind,
when the nostalgia arises in your heart.
