I should've left
the bar that night
before the curtains fell
plastered every countertop and wall in red

I should've left
when I had the chance
you would've finished your drink
coming back to never find the story ahead

I should've done a lot of things
and that was what I thought.
But for once I should have
left

It wasn't you
but my content with loneliness
which you broke
I am still a fool of belief

Call me with a rotary phone on the wall
call me for a last round of shots
call me outside into the snowy cold
call me a taxi and lets go home

I should've left
the bar that night
